What is Bhutanistics/Bhutanistik/Bhutanology?
Bhutanistics or Bhutanistik (in German) or Bhutanology should be defined here as “Bhutanese Studies” (Chos-skad: ’Brug-rig) in the sense of an academic field dealing with the study of history, literature, art, and culture of Bhutanese peoples.
The history of Bhutanistics or Bhutanology is a history of Bhutan’s encounter with the Western world.
